ohyeah Have you ever seen “programmable matter”? That is some wild stuff, they are able to produce materials that can be programmed to change shape, color, and even properties like flexibility and rigidity. Check out this video from CNN. I can see a TON of application for these kinds of materials. Some of the ones I’ve been reading about is, furniture, imagine having a couch that changes into a dinner table! Another application is an earbud that increases in size and functionality when you want to place a call or make a text message. Sounds like science fiction, but they’re doing it. Wild!

The other day I was out exploring the Ken Lockwood Gorge about 5 minutes from the house, and a guy and his wife came out of the woods and were looking at my Jeep when I got back. After chatting about 5 minutes, the woman asked me if my Jeep was a Hybrid!! She saw my sticker. Why is this so funny?

Well, it is happening again. We are changing the weather again. It is supposed to be 2 degrees tomorrow (and not Celsius), they said it is the coldest it has been in New Jersey for 15 years. Anyone who knows us remembers when we ended the California 7-year drought (note, we moved there on March 2 1991), caused the blizzard of ‘96. We thought we were “turning a corner” by not causing severe weather changes when we moved to Florida, but I guess that’s changing now.

New Words for Webster to add to his list.

Incrapsulated – Being inundated with non-value added activities

Dis-colocated – When people get relocated for the purpose of combining workforces just prior to the original workforce relocating out of the area.

Scorifice – When someone gets a promotion for talking out of their ass.

Recommandate – This is a word that you could use as a manager to tell someone nicely that he has to get something done ASAP. “I would recommandate that report be on my desk by the end of the day.

Clarificitation (KLAR-IF-IK-IT-Ā-SHUN) – This is an emphasis of the word clarification.

Laburban – This is not really a new word, but a car that was made by a little known conglomeration between Chrysler and GM. They mounted the body of a Labaron frame from the Suburban

Isocluded – This is more than just isolated or secluded. This is more like what the Unibomber was in that shack in Montana.

Momentaneously – adv- This actually is a cross between “Momentary” and “Instantaneously” (even though some think its “simultaneously”). The definition is that an action will take place instantaneous in a moment.

Gription (GRIP-SHUN) – physics – This material property describes the ease of which the human hand can grip the material.

Sliption (SLIP-SHUN) – physics – The material property that describes the ease of which the material slips on a given surface.

Snagability (SNAG-A-BIL-IT-TEE) – physics – The material property that describes ease to snag on sharp objects. Panty hose is the perfect material from which all other materials are compared.
